What is WWW???

The World Wide Web, abbreviated as WWW and commonly known as the Web, is a systemof interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the Internet. With a web browser, one can viewweb pages that may contain textimagesvideos, and other multimedia and navigate between them by using hyperlinks. Using concepts from earlier hypertext systems, English engineer and computer scientist Sir Tim Berners-Lee, now the Director of the World Wide Web Consortium, wrote a proposal in March 1989 for what would eventually become the World Wide Web.  At CERN in GenevaSwitzerland, Berners-Lee and Belgian computer scientist Robert Cailliauproposed in 1990 to use "HyperText [...] to link and access information of various kinds as a web of nodes in which the user can browse at will", and publicly introduced the project in December.
"The World-Wide Web (W3) was developed to be a pool of human knowledge, and human culture, which would allow collaborators in remote sites to share their ideas and all aspects of a common project."
function

The terms Internet and World Wide Web are often used in every-day speech without much distinction. However, the Internet and the World Wide Web are not one and the same. The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks. In contrast, the Web is one of the services that runs on the Internet. It is a collection of interconnected documents and other resources, linked by hyperlinks and URLs. In short, the Web is an application running on the Internet.[21] Viewing a web page on the World Wide Web normally begins either by typing theURL of the page into a web browser, or by following a hyperlink to that page or resource. The web browser then initiates a series of communication messages, behind the scenes, in order to fetch and display it.
First, the server-name portion of the URL is resolved into an IP address using the global, distributed Internet database known as the Domain Name System (DNS). This IP address is necessary to contact the Web server. The browser then requests the resource by sending an HTTPrequest to the Web server at that particular address. In the case of a typical web page, the HTML text of the page is requested first andparsed immediately by the web browser, which then makes additional requests for images and any other files that complete the page image. Statistics measuring a website's popularity are usually based either on the number of page views or associated server 'hits' (file requests) that take place.
While receiving these files from the web server, browsers may progressively render the page onto the screen as specified by its HTML,Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), or other page composition languages. Any images and other resources are incorporated to produce the on-screen web page that the user sees. Most web pages contain hyperlinks to other related pages and perhaps to downloadable files, source documents, definitions and other web resources. Such a collection of useful, related resources, interconnected via hypertext links is dubbed a web of information. Publication on the Internet created what Tim Berners-Lee first called the WorldWideWeb (in its original CamelCase, which was subsequently discarded) in November 1990.

Top 10 Interview Tips

Great interviews arise from careful groundwork. You can ace your next interview if you:
  1. Enter into a state of relaxed concentration. This is the state from which great basketball players or Olympic skaters operate. You'll need to quiet the negative self chatter in your head through meditation or visualization prior to sitting down in the meeting. You'll focus on the present moment and will be less apt to experience lapses in concentration, nervousness, self-doubt and self-condemnation.
  2. Act spontaneous, but be well prepared. Be your authentic self, professional yet real. Engage in true conversation with your interviewer, resting on the preparation you did prior to coming to the meeting. Conduct several trial runs with another person simulating the interview before it actually occurs. It's the same as anticipating the questions you'll be asked on a final exam.
  3. Set goals for the interview. It is your job to leave the meeting feeling secure that the interviewer knows as much as he or she possibly can about your skills, abilities, experience and achievements. If you sense there are misconceptions, clear them up before leaving. If the interviewer doesn't get around to asking you important questions, pose them yourself (diplomatically) and answer them. Don't leave the meeting without getting your own questions answered so that you have a clear idea of what you would be getting yourself into. If possible, try to get further interviews, especially with other key players.
  4. Know the question behind the question. Ultimately, every question boils down to, "Why should we hire you?" Be sure you answer that completely. If there is a question about your meeting deadlines, consider whether the interviewer is probing delicately about your personal life, careful not to ask you whether your family responsibilities will interfere with your work. Find away to address fears if you sense they are present.
  5. Follow up with an effective "thank you" letter. Don't write this letter lightly. It is another opportunity to market yourself. Find some areas discussed in the meeting and expand upon them in your letter. Writing a letter after a meeting is a very minimum. Standing out among the other candidates will occur if you thoughtfully consider this follow up letter as an additional interview in which you get to do all the talking. Propose useful ideas that demonstrate your added value to the team.
  6. Consider the interviewer's agenda. Much is on the shoulders of the interviewer. He or she has the responsibility of hiring the right candidate. Your ability to do the job will need to be justified. "Are there additional pluses here?" "Will this person fit the culture of this organization?" These as well as other questions will be heavily on the interviewer's mind. Find ways to demonstrate your qualities above and beyond just doing the job.
  7. Expect to answer the question, "Tell me about yourself." This is a pet question of prepared and even unprepared interviewers. Everything you include should answer the question, "Why should we hire you?" Carefully prepare your answer to include examples of achievements from your work life that closely match the elements of the job before you. Obviously, you'll want to know as much about the job description as you can before you respond to the question.
  8. Watch those nonverbal clues. Experts estimate that words express only 30% to 35% of what people actually communicate; facial expressions and body movements and actions convey the rest. Make and keep eye contact. Walk and sit with a confident air. Lean toward an interviewer to show interest and enthusiasm. Speak with a well-modulated voice that supports appropriate excitement for the opportunity before you.
  9. Be smart about money questions. Don't fall into the trap of telling the interviewer your financial expectations. You may be asking for too little or too much money and in each case ruin your chances of being offered the job. Instead, ask what salary range the job falls in. Attempt to postpone a money discussion until you have a better understanding of the scope of responsibilities of the job.
  10. Don't hang out your dirty laundry. Be careful not to bare your soul and tell tales that are inappropriate or beyond the scope of the interview. State your previous experience in the most positive terms. Even if you disagreed with a former employer, express your enthusiasm for earlier situations as much as you can. Whenever you speak negatively about another person or situation in which you were directly involved, you run the risk (early in the relationship) of appearing like a troubled person who may have difficulty working with others.

how to protect yourself and environment.

Protecting the environment is something we're hearing
more about all the time. The old saying "you are what you eat" a
new twist these days--what you eat affects both you and the
environment. At the same time, what you do and howyou do it
affects the air you breathe. It's important to learn how to
protect yourself and the environment at the same
time--here's how.
  1. 1
Let's start with what you eat. Produce grown by agribusiness (large corporate-owned                farming concerns) are grown with pesticides, chemicals and products that have been                   proven to be harmful both to the environment and to us. Washing produce in water                                        before you eat them barely removes a fraction of it. Eating organic fruits and vegetables                 cuts those pesticides dramatically.

  2. 2
Garden organically without chemicals or pesticides, including composting and soil amendments. Your vegetables will be fresh, vibrant and contain more nutrients than what you'd buy in supermarkets. It's not hard to do. And eating food that you've grown yourself that's healthy just tastes better.

  3. 3
Protect yourself indoors. Start by eliminating household toxins and chemicals, including all scented aerosols and those plug in air fresheners. All of them can trigger allergies in both humans and pets.
Cleaning with white vinegar is an effective way to disinfect and deodorize. For cleaning surfaces, dilute with equal parts water. Store in a new or clean spray bottle for regular use. Use small dishes of cider vinegar to eliminate household smells. It may take longer, but it works as well and you aren't putting chemicals into the air.

  4. 4
Use baking soda instead of commercial abrasive cleansers to scrub kitchen surfaces. Use it as a deodorizer in freezers and refrigerators.

  5. 5
Minimize perfumes in your environment. If you wear a strong perfume or cologne, consider lightening up. More people are experiencing environmental allergies and perfumes are often triggers. Be aware and use restraint with these.

Cleaning and laundry products are full of perfumes. Next time you walk down the laundry product grocery aisle, notice the strong scents. There are natural alternatives that don't overwhelm your senses.

Vinegar's great for laundry. Use a half-cup in the rinse cycle instead of fabric softener. It also helps break down laundry detergent, helping to eliminate residue.

Buy scent-free or natural laundry products. Many clean just as well as those others.

  6. 6
Indoor heating can harm the environment, inside and out. With rising gas and electric rates, more people are using wood stoves. Check out stoves burning alternative fuels such as pellets, corn or biomass. These don't produce creosote (like wood does) and many have near zero carbon output.

  7. 7
People in rural areas know about air pollutants. Traditional outdoor trash burning creates a smoky permeating haze that can cause health hazards. Many counties are banning this practice, encouraging people to take green waste to local dumps for proper disposal. This helps protect people and the environment.
  8. 8
Look at what you drive every day and how fast you drive it. Is your car a gas guzzler? If so, consider replacing it with a more gas efficient one, or even a hybrid. The more efficient it is, the less greenhouse gas goes into the environment.

Drive at or under the speed limit. It saves gas, it's safer and puts less pollutants into the air.

There's a lot you can to do protect yourself and the environment. Start with one or two things - even that will make a difference.

conducive stdy space

Set Up a Conducive Study Space

  • Choose the place and assemble your materials

A library is ideal. Yes, we know that you shudder at the thought of going to a library, but that's what makes it so perfect. What could be more boring (translation: less distracting) than a library? However, if you're the type who can't focus amid that deafening silence, you should at least pick a place where you know you will be able to focus. Here are some suggestions:

    A quiet coffee shop
    A study hall
    A student lounge
    An empty classroom

A bedroom is not a good place, since you'll be near a phone, a bed, a TV and other distractions. After 30 minutes, you'll start reasoning with yourself that a tube break is essential for your sanity.

Make sure you have all the materials with you that you might need; you don't want to waste time looking for your lucky pen (or hunting someone down to borrow one that's inferior). It's also best to have a table or large desk where you can spread your stuff so it will all be within easy reach.

Here's a quick inventory you can take to determine if you've found the right study environment for you.

    Make sure you're comfortable

Whatever area you choose, make sure it's relatively pleasant and comfortable. Some people need silence to study, while others can't study without some background music. (Researchers have found that listening to music can improve mental focus, though not necessarily while you're studying.) It's probably best to avoid high-energy music like hip-hop or hardcore rock, though--if you find yourself singing along to the music or even tapping your foot, chances are, your attention is lagging. The mellower, the better.
